Hi, I'm Andrew.

I am a student with a deep passion for math & science, Hangeul, as well as sports, visual arts, and music. I take great joy in collaborating with peers to solve problems creatively, to foster discussion, and to cultivate a sense of shared growth.

My passion for mathematics extends beyond personal achievement; I find great joy in coworking with friends to solve problems in creative ways, including discussions and nurturing a sense of shared growth.

Inspired by this collaborative spirit, I began tutoring math at my current school, Eaglebrook, and gathered team members to compete in competitions out of school, where we achieved a victory.

Initially, gathering the team was challenging, but my many trials helped motivate my peers. As a result, I've seen a noticeable shift in the school’s atmosphere, with more students becoming passionate about math, engaging enthusastically, and supporting each other.

Advocate of Hangeul

I am proud to draw inspiration from my great-grandfather, the renowned linguist Oesol Choe Hyun-bae (1894–1970), who made significant contributions to the development and preservation of the Korean phonetic alphabet, Hangeul.

Following his footsteps, I participated as a guest speaker at the USSH Hangeul and Korean Culture Festival 2024, where I shared insights on heritage and innovation.

Life At Eaglebrook

Life at Eaglebrook is a blend of challenges and excitement.

Dorm life, in particular, has taught me discipline and strengthened my life skills.

I take pride in leading by example and ensuring that our dorm remains a space of mutual respect and camaraderie. My responsibilities include mentoring younger students, mediating conflicts, and organizing activities that strengthen our sense of community.

This role has deepened my understanding of leadership—balancing empathy with assertiveness—and prepared me to take on greater responsibilities in the future.

Eaglebrook Assembly Presentation on Korean Culture

As an advocate of Hangeul, the Korean alphabet, I gave a presentation to the Eaglebrook community on Korean culture, specifically about King Sejong and his great inventions.

Travelling Around the World

I’ve been fortunate to travel the world with my family, an experience that broadened my perspective and deepened my appreciation for diverse cultures.
